Pyrohy/varennyky are not only a yummy Ukrainian food, but the monthly pyrohy fundraiser is integral to the financial stability of the church.
Every third week during the fall, winter and spring months, volunteers gather to make delectable pyrohy (boiled dumplings). These traditional delicacies are filled with potato, cheese or sauerkraut.
If you would like to meet others and give of your time, we would welcome your help. The usual start time is 9 am. There are many things you can do to help make pyrohy, from peeling potatoes, rolling out dough, to pinching the pyrohy closed, boiling the dumplings, or separating them into bagged dozens.
Pyrohy are sold by pre-orders via phone or email, as well as sales on the third Saturday from 9 am - noon, and after the Divine Liturgy in Sunday at noon. Please please pre-order as we often sell out on Saturday! The cost of a dozen, any flavor, is $8.
